All of us, at times, Did dream of a vacation, Without paying the dimes, Maybe to a hill station, Where peace surrounds us, Free from the workload situation, Recently everything’s come to a standstill, No soul to be seen in the office, Or in the mill, But not out of pleasure, Or to seek the pirate’s treasure, The globe has been hit, By something worse than the plague, Nothing seems to contain it, Every solution seems vague, All corners filled with chaos and ruckus; Loss of lives and hope; This pandemic has indeed shaken us, And while we disdain, The medical heroes work diligently, Ignoring even their own pain, Reflecting what humanity really is, Holding hands in support with care, Even in a grim situation like this, Dedicated to their duty to mankind, They work hard to ensure, No one is left behind, We are and should be in our houses, With our loved ones, children and spouses, And even though it’s an impostion,

Is Life a Rat Race?

Life seems like a rat race, No one questions why, All we do is chase, Mindlessly till our lives run dry, And then everyone wonders why, How could a person so young, Just die? we've got to live, Not as a compulsion, But for our passion, For what keeps the fire burning, And the mind running, Life was never meant to be a race, But just another phase Of mortality, But no one questions why, All we do is chase, To become the ace, Till our lives run dry.

I Thought I lost You

It's been some time since you left the place, I'm worried about you, Was this the last time we bade adieu? such perturbing thoughts I can't efface, I knew something was off, As you wore that overcoat, Gave me a kiss and took off, Leaving a lump in my throat, I miss your presence, As I try to salvage, Even the slightest of your redolence, Even food seems less appealing, Ugh, it's such an uncanny feeling, Love why do you do this to me? Your absence makes me sad and cranky, But just as I thought I lost you, Your keys at the front door jingled, I was so worried about you, The sight of you fills me with ecstasy, Who said being a pet was easy?

The sunset

Stuck in a traffic jam, Mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, The sunset tries to hold your glance, As its beams perform their last dance, Before its time to put up a show again, For spectators keep changing time and again, They perform for anyone who passes by, Before its time to say goodbye, When they know its time to get some rest, To rise tomorrow again and perform their best, The mortal spectators may meet their end, But  the performers shall perform till the end, Its a folly to think that the man has might, When some don't even survive the night, Unable to witness tomorrow's sunlight.

Mental Peace

Mental peace, Struck apeice, Its not important they say, What's considered important, Is the ability to play, According to the worldly definition, Depresssion is just a 'phase', Physical stability is the chase, All you need to do, Is look alright on the outside, But what to do,  About the turmoil rioting inside? Anxiety doesn't seem as bad as being crippled? But what about the pressure on the mind, That gets trippled? There's more to being too skinny or fat, However these disorders are often overlooked, Just like that, One may have heard, Sound mind makes a sound body, But who cares about the mind? Apparently, nobody, Muscle strain, Is given priority over, Mental strain, One isn't more important than the other, Both are a reason of bother, Mental strength, Is as momentous as, Physical strength.

Long forgotten days

Those long forgotten days, Filled with rinning around and sun ablaze, Those sprints to the ice cream man; That slowly turned into a van, And all those innocent plays, Oh, those long forgotten days. Those scary stories, And the haunted house escapade glories, Times when there were damce competetions in the rain, There wasnt any complexity; All lucid and plain, oh, those long forgotten days. That craze about slime, Never giving a care about time; Forever glued to tom and jerry, Everyday was spent making merry, oh, those long forgotten days. Finding the repository of sweets; Often lead to ostentacious treats, Then there were fairies and santa, Teeth mostly tinted orange with fanta, Oh, those long forgotten days.
